Gods Made Love is the passion project of songwriters Tim Furlong (vocals) Don Scarsella (guitars) Robert Myers (drums) and Randy Peavler (bass)
It was a strange, yet beautiful time...
the 80s.
The 'Greed is Good...' Gordon Gecko speech, from the movie 'WallStreet' ringing loudly in everyone's ears and echoing in their minds.
And the music (songs?) of the era-
Well, it (they) reflected this...
Bigger…
Louder…
Brighter…
We could see it as early as 1982.
By 1983 events like Apple Computer Founder Steve Wozniak’s US Festival in Glen Helen Park California were drawing well over a half million people to see a Four Day Music barrage of the eras best, current and upcoming stars. In 1985, Live Aid- a dual continent mega concert was put together specifically to address world hunger, proving the power that music has when aimed properly from the correct soap box.
We were now living in a world captivated by MTV- The genesis of multimedia music brought to life…
And everyone was buying in.
It all seemed like a dream that would never end. We were all going to be not just musicians, but larger than life. Not just Rock Stars, we were going to be superheroes, because as Gordon Gecko said-
‘Nothing exceeds like excess…’

This party blazed on through the 80's. The industry was un-phased by political events like wars, or even by politicians trying to censor lyrics. Artists were truly free, unabashedly rocking planet earth….
But change was on the horizon, unseen, unheard, like the iceberg that sunk the Titanic, invisible to those of us who thought we would be young forever- or maybe, just maybe, we didn’t want to see it. For we had perched ourselves on top of a music world that in time, would soon turn us over on our heads and capsize us all.
There are moments where the lit blue flame touches paper. Where artists shoot light, color, magic into the night sky. Where there was darkness, there was now GodsMadeLove.
This is the story...
The Greatest Band that Never Was
